Preface
Climate Change - the need to Decarbonize Earth
This Publication is a situational analysis of global Climate Change
Climate Change is the greatest existential threat to life on this Earth. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has outlined five different Scenarios for Emission Reduction.
Only one scenario works – the most aggressive one – to keep temperatures and sea level rise within acceptable levels. And, even this is a big call!
If we don’t act immediately:
Global temperatures will become much hotter.
Global weather will become more unpredictably volatile.
People will die, in dramatically large numbers, from heat, starvation, and volatile weather events.
Globally, countries need to cooperate to quickly stop fossil fuel emissions, actively extract carbon dioxide out of the air and sea, and live in better alignment with Earth’s natural systems.
This situational analysis seeks to clearly understand and explain what is happening to Earth.
