The IPCC directions are clear
The IPCC report says that under the proposed lowest emissions scenario, the slowing down of global surface warming could be detectable after 20-30 years.
What that means is, if we make deep and rapid cuts in CO2 emissions as soon as possible, even though global surface temperatures will keep going up, within 20 to 30 years, we stop the increase and flatten the level of change in global average temperature, and start moving to a safer global climate.
Those are possible scenarios that can be achieved within the lifetimes of many existing people on Earth today.
That is the ‘Silver Lining’, the future is still in our hands.
