3.10 Feedback loops are starting
Non-Linear CO2 positive feedback loops in the 'Danger of Death' zone are already starting
When the Earth reaches a point where an irreversible major catastrophic event is certain to occur, this is a Tipping Point. There are now many Tipping Points expected.
The Amazonian Rainforest is being cleared and burned, and as the Earth is warming, this is turning the Amazonian Rainforest into a Source of CO2, rather than a Sink of CO2.
Permafrost in places such as Siberia are now subjected to fires and warming and CO2 and Methane that was frozen in the ice is melting and being released into the Earth’s atmosphere. This is a positive feedback loop that increases Climate Change.
The Earth’s polar caps sea ice and glaciers are rapidly and irreversibly melting.
Coral reefs, including the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, have experienced 3 major bleaching events in the last 6 years. At 2 degrees Celsius increase in average Earth temperatures it is expected that the entire world’s coral reefs will be destroyed.
The 9 Aug 2021 IPCC report indicates that the current Climate Change events in Australia are going to become worse, at least for the next few decades. This will also happen worldwide.
