1.5 The CO2 ppm increase caused by humans
CO2 ppm increases in just the past few hundred years
The Global Carbon Project has advised that Humans have raised the Global Atmospheric CO2 concentration:
From 277 ppm in Year 1750.
Up to 410 ppm in Year 2019. And, it’s 417 ppm in 2021.
Half the Earth is ALWAYS being heated by extremely large amounts of thermal Energy from the Sun.
A higher CO2 concentration in the Earth’s Atmosphere dramatically increases the amount of thermal Energy that is trapped by the Earth’s Atmosphere and warms it up.
It is literally just a matter of time before the Earth’s Average Temperature increases in response to the very dangerous increase in CO2 concentration level.
The only reason it takes time for the Average Temperature to respond is that the Earth is large and contains a large volume of ocean water and sea ice that is absorbing most of this thermal Energy. This Earth’s ocean water is heating, and the sea ice is melting.
By analogy:
Q. what happens when you put a pot of water containing some ice on the stove, and apply heat to the pot for a few minutes ?
A. It takes time to warm the water, and slowly melt the ice, but it certainly all becomes progressively hotter, and the ice continues melting even after the heat is stopped. This is thermal energy storage.
MAKE NO MISTAKE, THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE IS WARMING, AND IT’S ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED
