3.1 Earth timescales
All of Humanity’s existence is just a short blip in Earth timescales
Earth is about 4,543,000,000 years old, and Humanity is about 200,000 years old. Human’s existence on Earth is a short blip at 0.0044% of Earth’s entire history. To put this in perspective, if the Earth existed for just 24 hours, then all humans would have lived in just the last 3.8 seconds.
Earth’s climate control system stabilised and has been operating quite smoothly for at least the past 400,000 years. This stability has enabled life on Earth to gradually develop and flourish.
The human species appeared in the past 200,000 years; and then in just the past 170 years, emitted enough carbon to completely destabilise Earth’s climate control system. It is done. The Earth is now unstable and it’s just a matter of time before massive climate instability kicks in.
Earth’s climate control system is fiercely powerful and can be brutal. It directly effects all the evolutionary biological growth, ecological systems, and all of the natural selection processes on its surface. It is a fully automatic planetary climate control system with zero consciousness.
So humans have created a very serious climate control error, and the Earth is rapidly starting to make totally automatic adjustments that are designed to eventually restabilise the climate system, by first eradicating the cause of the instability error, which is in this case: the entire human species.
It is easy to point all blame for this situation at the Fossil Fuel industry. However, it is important to understand that Climate Change is everyone’s fault, because we’ve all used the Energy from these Fossil Fuel products to develop almost everything that exists in our world. All of human civilisation has caused this, and now, despite the IPCC climate science warnings, continues to make this worse.
To all children on Earth: We adults are supposed to be highly responsible and protect your future, but we have made some absolutely huge and unintended mistakes. The science and warnings are clear. It is now all adults responsibility to fix this Climate Change error as quickly as possible.
